Ruddy Rhubarb

Rhubarb heralds that spring is finally in the air.  The large leaves begin to emerge from the cool earth at the same time that tulips and daffodils pop their heads from the ground.  Rhubarb is a perennial that will come back year after year.  Rhubarb is an old-fashioned sweet and savory favorite.  Many people consider rhubarb to be a fruit but it is actually a vegetable and was not considered to be a fruit until 1947.
